Many thanks to CCE-DV member John Handy for creating a Facebook page to help Irish language learners. Here's what John has to say about the page:
This site can provide individuals on Facebook with daily beginner level immersion to help them gain familiarity with the language. It was primarily started to provide continuous immersion for those already in beginner classes; however, it has grown much bigger than that and encompasses brand new beginners or people who had previously taken an Irish class but discontinued for some reason. One can access and like the site via Facebook to receive daily immersion and learning or it is also possible to just google the site and scroll through the content; however, the later does not provide daily updates and would require revisiting the site from time to time. The site can be accessed here: www.facebook.com/IrishLanguageLearners and this link has been permanently added to our LINKS page. At the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Derry, the Delaware Valley Branch meets with success!
In Fiddle under 12, Haley Richardson took first place today, followed by another first in Fiddle Slow Airs under 12. Then, Emily Safko placed first in Harp Slow Airs under 12. Congratulations, girls! |
